Bude Life caught up with Anthony Rogers who is part of the team at Bude Radio.
Whether it’s tuning in online at www.buderadio.co.uk or through the ‘Get Me Radio’ free app on android & iOS devices, Bude Radio is taking the town by storm.
The station which was started and funded by local owners, Ant and Jo, along with some business support, is hoping to attract listeners made up of both residents and visitors to the town.
Ant told Bude Life ‘Bude Radio came about after speaking to a lot of people from in and around Bude, as well as local businesses. The overwhelming response we had is that there is certainly a need for a local radio station specifically for Bude, rather than Cornwall in general. Our aim for Bude Radio is to be the go-to radio station for both residents and visitors to Bude alike. We’d love to be played in shops & businesses around the town, as well as in people’s homes.’
‘Our presenters are all broadcasting from their own homes. Whilst the majority of our presenters are actually based in and around the town, one minute Bude Radio could be coming to you from Widemouth Bay and the next from Poughill.’
Ant added ‘What we’re trying to do as well as giving our listeners information about what’s going on in and around the area, weather & traffic reports etc, is to play music that you wouldn’t hear on any other radio station; something you might listen to and think, wow, I haven’t heard that for a long time.’
